Tina Woods
Tina Woods discovered her passion for techno music in her mid-fifties, first with dancing and then DJing when she learned how to mix music during her recovery from major foot surgery which laid her up for 4 months (see her story and video from the Sunday Times).
She is a pioneer in the longevity field, passionate about bringing the science and technology to the mainstream. The role of music in her own personal health journey has been covered in various media (see the Business Insider piece here that went viral).
She has spent the last 8 years as a mission-driven social entrepreneur, working at the cross section of science, technology, investment and policy/government. She is Founder and CEO of Collider Health and works with private, public and third sectors. She is Founder and CEO of Business for Health, a business-led social venture developing a Business Framework for Health, bringing in ‘Health’ into ‘ESG’ mandates to support long-term sustainable innovation and investment in preventative health.
She is the Healthy Longevity Champion for the National Innovation Centre for Ageing, co-leading the Quantum Healthy Longevity Innovation Mission and City of Longevity programme. Tina sits on various advisory groups, including the XPRIZE Global Visioneering Brain Trust, Strategic Advisory Board for the BBSRC Bioscience for an Integrated Understanding of Health, and BSI standards group for AI in health and care. She is also a trustee for the British Society for Research on Ageing. Tina’s book, ‘Live Longer with AI: How artificial intelligence is helping us extend our healthspan and live better too' was published in October 2020. She studied genetics at Cornell University in the USA and also has an MBA from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass/City).
Yukari Takehisa
Yukari Takehisa, born in Tokyo, raised in the United States, and educated in the United Kingdom, is an Insights Manager in the social intelligence industry, holding a degree in anthropology and a master’s in media and communications from the London School of Economics. Passionate about understanding human behavior and exploring human connections across cultures, Yukari's love for music, which transcends cultural boundaries and unites people, inspired her to start DJing.
During her student days in London, she was captivated by the vibrant rave scene, finding a sense of belonging during a challenging period of identity and mental health struggle. This experience led her to share her passion for music and raving, starting her DJ career in Tokyo. In this bustling city, she brings the rave culture of freedom, inclusivity, and connection to the high-pressure environment through energetic techno beats.
Her DJ journey focuses on spreading joy and a sense of belonging around the world. After meeting her co-DJ partner Tina in London (see their story here), Yukari looks forward to taking their collaboration globally. Through her multicultural background, she aims to build connections, promote understanding, and create communities that celebrate diversity and harmony.
